Walking for Hope: My Journey Supporting The Royal Marsden

In 2022, my world changed in ways I never could have imagined.
My mum was diagnosed with cancer. It’s a sentence that instantly shifts everything—your priorities, your perspective, your sense of normal. What followed were months filled with fear, uncertainty, and hope. Thanks to the incredible care, expertise, and compassion of The Royal Marsden, she underwent multiple life-saving surgeries and treatments. Today, I’m beyond grateful to say she is still here, still fighting, and still inspiring me every single day.
But alongside that, our family also faced heartbreak.
My Auntie was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2022, and we sadly lost her in 2023. Losing someone you love to cancer leaves a space that can never truly be filled. It’s a reminder of how cruel this disease can be—and how urgently we need to keep fighting it.

This walk is deeply personal to me. It’s for my mum, whose strength continues to amaze me. It’s for my Auntie, whose memory I carry with me always. And it’s for every family navigating the pain, fear, and hope that comes with a cancer diagnosis.
The Royal Marsden doesn’t just treat patients—they give people more time, more memories, and more chances. The doctors, nurses, and researchers are doing life-changing work every single day, and I’ve seen firsthand the difference they make.
