My updates

The walk that involved blisters and a sock full of blood!

Sunday 26th Apr
Tuesday 19th we did a 7 mile walk, poor Gary developed a blister on his heel and I ended up with a sock full of blood. Somehow I cut my toe and it had bled for quite some time before me realising it. Talk about blood, sweat and tears but it will all be worth it.

Another 7 mile walk

Sunday 19th Apr
A beautiful sunny day for a walk, Strava recorded 6.6 miles, but there was a bit to be added on as I stopped my watch for a photo and forgot to restart it! So, probably 7 miles in total. Feeling confident now for the 15 miles on the day!

10 mile training walk

Friday 17th Apr
Thank you Andy Wright for alternative taping to support my foot. What a difference it made, pain was significantly reduced which made this walk quite enjoyable. A coffee stop mile 7 also helped!

It went on and on!

Tuesday 7th Apr
10.7 miles walked today, from Fulham to Barnes and back, with a lunch stop at Gail’s bakery! My toe is far from happy, but a walk like this is good training and good for my mental health.

Increasing the miles

Wednesday 1st Apr
A good 9.3 mile walk today, my toe still has to be strapped up and is far from comfortable, but hey ho, just get on with it!

2nd training walk

Thursday 19th Mar
Today Gary and I did a great 6.6 mile route, very scenic countryside, woodland and lots of mud! My toe/foot was strapped up and felt ok’ish till we stopped. Happy though with how it’s going. Xx

A new challenge!

Monday 23rd Feb
I haven’t done any major exercise since having breast cancer in 2024, so a new challenge for me, get fit enough to walk the 15 miles for this amazing cause. They have provided a superb service to very close family members over the years and I’m so happy to support them so they can continue to help others. Need some new shoes I think! Xx
