Walking for The Royal Marsden
My best friend Scarlett’s wonderful mum, Gilly was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in September and has fought hard, battling 10 rounds of the strongest chemo followed by a perforated oesophagus (which was a very unusual and unlucky complication from her cancer), which resulted in a 4 and half week hospital stay, and her not being able to eat for 3 and a half weeks during that time. Her strength and determination was inspiring and truly humbling, facing her toughest challenges yet, she has never given up. The Marsden became their family’s second home, and Gill’s primary residence for that time.
She overcame this insane hurdle and is now back at home with her family, still fighting like the warrior that she is.
Without the Marsden she wouldn’t be here right now, so we’re taking this opportunity to give back to them.
