Walking for Eleanor and for everyone like her
In March 2025, our family's world shifted. My niece Eleanor, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma and began immediate chemotherapy treatment.
She was four. And yet, with a courage that left all of us speechless, she faced every single challenge with a resilience that I will never stop being in awe of.
Each week, I would drive to visit her, bringing along my twins, Coco and Eddie, who were just nine months old, so they could spend time with their cousin. There was something bittersweet about it, the illness becoming the thing that brought us closer. The visits were hard. We'd sit inside with Eleanor on the days she couldn't go out, and we'd see the other children and families going through their own unimaginable struggles.
Those moments stayed with me, which is why I will be walking 15 miles on 10th May as part of the Banham Marsden March.
