Thursday 27th FebWe are walking to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre because 17 years ago, Sarah walked into Kingston Hospital A&E, collapsed and woke up over 2 weeks later in ICU. During those 2 weeks she had uncountable surgeries, equivalent of a triple blood transfusion and resuscitated twice as a result of a huge NET tumour on her adrenal gland that we didn’t know was there causing catastrophic damage to an artery.
After putting Sarah back together, her care was transferred to the Royal Marsden Hospital with regular MRIs and blood tests, finding the fast growing reoccurrence quickly 2 years later and swiftly removed it. They then looked after her for a full 10 years before discharging me in 2020.
Sarah and I will be walking the Marsden March again this year to raise money for the Royal Marsden. We'll never be able to repay them for what they've done for us as a family, without them Sarah would not be here to tell the tale. By donating to our page, their nurses, doctors, and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world. Together, we can transform the lives of cancer patients.
