Setting up your fundraising page for success
With every ticket for the Banham Marsden March and The Banham Marsden March at Home, you have a fundraising page ready to share with family and friends and start collecting donations. Here we’ve put together a list of our top tips to get started with your page.
Our top tips:
1. Add a profile picture
Adding personal touches such as a profile picture to your fundraising page is proven to boost your donations! You can update your profile picture via your dashboard when logged in to your account.
2. Update your story
Inspire your friends and family to donate by telling them why you are walking The Banham Marsden March and what it means to you. Adding a story to your page can help you raise up to 25% more!
3. Share your goals
Set your goals and share your progress with regular updates. You can also add your training updates in the ‘challenge’ section on your fundraising page.
4. Donate to your own page
The numbers show that others are more likely to donate if your page is already off the mark and a step towards your goal so make a donation to your own page to get it kickstarted!
5. Encourage Gift Aid
Remind your family and friends that they can boost their donations by 25% with no extra cost to them if they gift aid their donation. They need to be eligible though (You can check the small print here).
6. Start a team
Setting up a team is so simple, you can do it in seconds! Once you've set up a team you can invite family and and friends to join you and make an even bigger difference to the lives of cancer patients everywhere!
Once your page is set up, it's time to start sharing it!
Six bonus fundraising ideas to help top up your total
1. Workplace matched giving
Ask your workplace about matched fundraising. Lots of companies have matched funding schemes which can be a really easy way of adding to your total, so check with your workplace or ask your sponsors to check whether their donation can be matched.
2. Host a bake sale or coffee morning
Host a cake sale or coffee morning at school or work, or in your neighbourhood, and invite friends or colleagues. It can be in person or online.
3. Donations as a birthday gift
Have a birthday or celebration coming up? Why not ask friends or family for a donation towards your Banham Marsden March fundraising as a gift suggestion.
4. Have a clear out for cash.
Spring clean around the house and sell your unwanted items on eBay, facebook marketplace or at a car boot sale. Then simply add the profits as a donation to your fundraising page.
5. Host an event
Host a movie night, games night or dinner party at home and ask your friends and family to donate to attend.
6. Run a step count sweepstake
How many steps will you take to complete The Banham Marsden March? Why not run a sweepstake to boost your donations. Source a prize, and ask for donations to enter a guess. Closest wins! We've even made a handy sweepstake template to get you started.
