My updates
To the people i've lost.
Monday 16th MarThe Royal Marsden has helped so many people. My nan was cared for at the Marsden years ago, when I was only a child. Thanks to them she was able to beat cancer - twice! Later, my uncle was also treated there. Sadly, we lost him in 2010, but I will always remember how well he was looked after.
He was only 44 when he was taken from us. My uncle was a cheeky, hilarious man who I never got to know well enough. Hearing stories about him now, I know we would have got on like a house on fire. He was a great man — and definitely not someone you could make a cup of tea around, as my family will all know (Teaspoon burns lol)
He has missed so much, and we all miss him terribly. Our family broke the day we lost him, and there will forever be a piece of us missing.
Most recently, my best friend lost her mother. Rach was the most incredible spirit. She always had a big smile on her face and was easily one of the best people I have ever had the privilege to meet. They don’t make many like her, and I still can’t believe we have to go on in a world that Rachael Wallace isn’t part of.
She will live on through the amazing qualities she passed on to her family.
The Marsden helps so many people keep fighting battles they should never have to face alone.
That’s why I’m going to walk 15 miles and probably ruin my little legs in the process. I’m sure Clare will have to carry me by the end, but it’s something we are both more than willing to do to raise money for a cause that means so much to us and to so many others.
If you can, please donate anything you can. Every bit of support truly makes a difference.
