Together we walk!

Myself and Meena Patel are walking as part of Team KKME for Virendra Patel.

He was my auntie’s dad and my grandma’s brother, and we lost him to cancer. He spent his final days in this hospital, where he was cared for with real compassion and dignity.

In 2022, we then lost his sister, my grandma, to a very aggressive cancer in just one month from diagnosis. From the moment we were told there was nothing more that could be done, we were navigating palliative care almost overnight. The hospital staff who cared for her carried our family through those days with such gentleness and humanity, and that is something we will always be grateful for.

Experiences like this really showcase how important it is that charities like this stay funded and continue doing the incredible work they do, supporting patients and families through the most difficult moments of their lives.
