My updates

The Long Road

Tuesday 11th Feb
I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer on the 17th April 2024 at 44 year old

Telling my children was hard, explaining to my 6 year old granddaughter/best friend Emily was harder explaining how nanny was going to lose her hair and wouldn’t be able to see her 😢 I was just thankful my other grandchildren were to young to understand

On the other hand my 2 and a half year old son understanding what was to come I just had to ride out

On the 22nd May I started a very aggressive chemotherapy/immunotherapy (taxel and EC) weekly program that literally put me on my arse knocked me out for 36 hours, I had never felt fatigue or pain like it I had to lock myself away which confused my baby boy and his little voice every time asking me where my hair had gone was heartbreaking 💔

Watching my older children watch me go through this would tear me to pieces but I was fighting for them

My amazing partner became my career and would have to help me do the most easiest of tasks and some emotionally embarrassing ones too, some days it was even to hard to breath let alone even open my eyes

I finally had my last chemotherapy on the 16 October 2024 and had my Surgery on the 21st November where the cancer was removed

2 weeks later I received a phone call I will never forget my surgeon telling me my cancer was gone

She explained I had to have further treatment as unfortunately MAYBE some small particles of cancer could have traveled my immunotherapy would help fight that and radiation therapy would help any residue in my breast

I’m now having my Radiation Therapy and continuing my immunotherapy

Unfortunately as my cancer is a rare aggressive grade 3 cancer the possibility of it coming back is between 10/30% over the next 5 years but that’s just a % and might not happen

So now me and my family/friends are going to live our best life’s together

And with your HELP raise money to help support the Royal Marsden in everything they do from helping patients/family’s and resources and research which in the future might help me again

Plus as 1 in 2 of us now get cancer it could help you or your loved ones too
