Our Inspiration!

This May, Mum and I will be taking part in The Banham March, walking 15 miles to raise funds for The Royal Marsden, a charity that has been incredibly important to our family. Three years ago, my boyfriend Jon was diagnosed with a brain tumour, and since then, The Royal Marsden has been by his side, delivering and supporting him through surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

This month, we received the sad news that his tumour has progressed, and we’re more determined than ever to raise as much as we can to support the hospital that’s been such a vital part of his care and treatment. It's a tough journey, and while Jon fights every day with his usual determination (and his fantastic sense of humour), we know the research and work being done at The Royal Marsden is so important.

Cancer has affected our family deeply, with my mum and grandma having both fought their own battles, and Jon’s mum, who is still receiving treatment for hers. We know how crucial the care and support from The Royal Marsden is, not just for Jon but for so many others. We want to give back to the hospital that’s given us so much hope and help others going through the same thing.
