Together we walk!
This year our team, The One Drink Wanderers, will be taking on the Marsden March together to raise money for the incredible Royal Marsden.
Our team is made up of friends and family who have all been affected by cancer in different ways, but we’ve been brought together this year by the memory of someone very special, Carol, affectionately known by some of us as “One Drink Carol.” Her nickname is the inspiration behind our team name.
Carol was treated by the Royal Marsden for over 20 years and the care she received from the team there was nothing short of incredible. We sadly lost her in October, and this year’s walk feels particularly meaningful as we continue the tradition in her memory.
Last year we joked about doing a “pub crawl Marsden March”, and Carol was very much on board with the idea. So this year we’re making it happen. Stopping at a few pubs along the route and raising a drink to One Drink Carol along the way.
We’re walking to honour loved ones, to support the amazing work of the Royal Marsden, and to help ensure more families get the time, care and hope that meant so much to ours.
