In January 2025 I was diagnosed with a non cancerous brain tumour that was affecting my hearing and my balance. Whilst no initial action was taken, the scan in August of that year confirmed that the tumour was growing and that I should consider the options available to me.
By September I had been referred to the Royal Marsden and by November a date was set in December for Radiotherapy. Four months on (April 2026) I have received the treatment and have now been discharged as the hospital are happy that the latest scans show that the Radiotherapy is working . I feel incredibly lucky to have been referred to this amazing hospital and to be in the position I am now in. The staff at the hospital have been wonderful, very caring, patient, kind and I have never felt rushed when I have had numerous questions.
Not only have I been incredibly lucky to have received this treatment but to have such lovely work colleagues who have readily agreed to walk with me (there will be 10 of us on the walk). I anticipate lots of laughs and fun on the day, and I daresay a few tears will be shed too for those who have lost someone to cancer. I am really keen that we raise as much money as possible so that others can benefit from the amazing team at the hospital. Thank you
