Walking for Dad and Grandad
Monday 13th AprWe will be walking to raise funds for the Royal Marsden hospital in honour of our Dad and Grandad whose life was suddenly taken by cancer on Easter Sunday. We were originally walking to raise awareness so never thought we would be walking in his honour.
Dad was a pillar of strength throughout his illness and fought to stay strong for his family. A reflection of his hardworking spirit.
Our dad had a deep love for cars—it wasn’t just a hobby, it was a passion that brought him joy and defined so much of who he was. Whether he was working under the hood, talking about engines, or racing his cars, cars were his way of connecting with the world and with the people he loved.
He shared that passion with family and friends, creating memories for his wife Denise, 3 children and 7 grandchildren.
Even though he is no longer with us, that love continues to live on in the memories he created and the passion he passed down. The smell of engine oil will always remind us of Dad.
Hence our team name - Pedal To The Metal!
