15 Miles, Zero Training, One Very Important Cause!

I’m supporting The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. By donating to my page, their nurses, doctors, and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments. Together, we can save the lives of cancer patients everywhere. Please support me today

I’ve signed up for the Royal Marsden March… which sounds very impressive until you realise it involves walking 15 miles and my current fitness level could best be described as an “enthusiastic spectator.” 😅

I’m honestly not sure how I’m going to manage it, but one step at a time feels quite fitting.

Cancer has touched my family in more ways than I ever imagined possible.  My mum, sister and cousin are all breast cancer survivors - incredible fighters. Sadly, cancer hasn’t finished with us.  Mum is now battling lung cancer, my sister pancreatic cancer, my dad renal cancer and my godfather is fighting bladder cancer.  Alongside these fighters, we have also lost family and friends to cancer over the years - reminders of just how relentless this disease can be.

Cancer doesn’t discriminate.  It doesn’t follow one path and every person’s journey looks different.

I know this march won’t cure cancer overnight but it does raise awareness and vital funds that help research, treatment and support continue - giving families like mine hope when they need it most.

I’ll be walking alongside some amazing colleagues from Perfect Smile, whose support (along with my workplace’s kindness during a very tough time) means more than I can say.  Meanwhile, my family - despite everything they’re facing - will be cheering me on… probably while placing bets on whether I crawl, walk, limp, or dive spectacularly across the finish line (I’m personally betting on the crawl!).

Money is tight for many of us right now, so please don’t feel any pressure. If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, it truly will make a difference!

Thank you for reading, for supporting and for helping me somehow survive 15 miles… please send snacks, plasters, and positive vibes! 💛

P.S. Every donation = extra motivation when I start questioning why I signed up for 15 miles.
