Walking for my Hero!

First of all, thank you for looking at my page.

On Sunday 10th May, I'm walking 15 miles between the Chelsea and the Sutton branch of The Royal Marsden Hospital for my dad/my hero!
This is his story.... In 2024 my dad was rushed to hospital with excruciating pain in his right side. After several tests it was found that he had Stage 4 Bowel Cancer and our world as a family collapsed. He had emergency surgery to remove the tumour and spent 3 weeks in hospital in and out of ICU and later in a normal ward. My dad had a scan on leaving hospital and was found to have tumours on his liver also. After being discharged his fight began.
He had Chemotherapy which affected him greatly but he is a fighter and just got on with it, didn't moan or complain, just took it all in his stride.
After his Chemo treatment, he had a scan and the tumour on his liver had not shrunk as much as they have wanted, so he was taken into hospital to have the tumour removed.
In Dec 2025 my dad had a routine scan and once again our world was shattered.  He now has a tumour on his lung and in his peritoneal space in his stomach.
He has now started a more intense chemo to try and eradicate this awful disease once and for all, whether it will or not is yet to be seen.
Both the Sutton and Chelsea branch of the Royal Marsden have been instrumental in his fight and recovery and a source of hope.
All the staff at both hospitals work tirelessly to provide the best care they can. They are a source of hope and comfort when times are hard and give their all.
Please if you can donate, you never know when you might need them. 1 in 2 of us will be diagnosed with this awful disease.
Thank you, Kelly xx
