Ten years ago, our best friend Sue was given less than 12 months to live after being diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer while her wife, Alex, was pregnant with their daughter, Pip.
It was an unimaginably difficult time, with the family facing the possibility that Sue might never get to meet her daughter. But thanks to the incredible care and treatment she received at The Royal Marsden, things turned out very differently.
Ten years on, Sue is still here and has been there for all the moments that once felt impossible: Pip’s birth, first days at school, holidays, football matches, bike rides, and countless everyday memories that mean everything.
Watching that journey up close is something none of us will ever forget. That’s why a group of us are taking part in the Marsden March this year — helping to support the research, treatment, and care that give people more hope, more time, and more precious moments together.
