Walking forward with hope and thanks
In October last year, my life changed overnight when I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 53.
After several long and difficult months supported in a local care setting, I made the decision to transfer my care to The Royal Marsden in Sutton. Despite the longer travel for treatment, I have never once regretted that decision. I have been incredibly fortunate to be cared for by an outstanding consultant and an exceptional wider team. Their expertise, compassion and unwavering support have carried me through some of the most challenging moments of my life.
The charitable donations raised by patients, families and supporters are the lifeblood of this amazing hospital, enabling it to provide outstanding cancer care and fund vital lifesaving research that benefits people worldwide.
My friend Teri and I will be walking the 5 mile Banham Marsden March on 10th May with our children Will, Max and Flo, to show our gratitude.
Both of our families have directly benefited from treatments developed through the hospital's research.
