Another long charity walk!

My Brother In Law, Stephen Smith, was diagnosed with a Brain Tumour in July 2024. Since then he has recieved ongoing therapy and support from The Royal Marsden and we want to help them continue this work for generations to come.   Therefore Steve, supported by 6 freinds and family including myself, will be walking the 15 miles between these great hospitals  from Chelsea to Sutton.  Training so far is going well and i have complered 6 x walks of over 10 miles since February

And how about a Poem for our day on Sunday

Wednesday 6th May
The pavement stretches long and grey,
From Chelsea’s brick to Sutton’s clay.
A fifteen-mile, determined stride,
With rhythm born of hope and pride.
​Steve takes the lead, the steady heart,
Where every mile’s a brand-new start.
He doesn’t walk the path alone,
With seeds of courage deeply sown.
​Beside him, Cara keeps the pace,
A light within this earnest race.
And Callum brings a strength that’s true,
To see the long-game journey through.
​James is there with quiet mind,
Leaving the city streets behind.
While Ella’s spirit, bright and bold,
Warms the air when winds grow cold.
​Then John and Clive, the final pair,
With wisdom and a seasoned care,
Complete the line, a human chain,
Through weary legs and sudden rain.
​From one Royal Marsden to the next,
Beyond the struggle and the text,
Six friends, one soul, a fifteen-mile run—
Until the walking’s finally done.
