Raising funds to support the incredible Royal Marsden

Hello! We're  The Hairy Cell Girls , and we're walking the Marsden March in aid of   The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. In 2023, my mum Cari was diagnosed with Hairy Cell Leukemia - a rare form of  blood cancer that affects the B lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell.   The condition gets its name from the microscopic appearance of the leukemia cells, which have tiny, hair-like projections on their surface.

Following her diagnosis, my mum underwent treatment at The Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton, and after a three month period of recovery we   received the wonderful news in February this year that she was in remission.

Throughout  her time at the Marsden,  the hospital provided  incredible support and care. We feel so lucky to have  had  such a brilliant team on-hand to facilitate  treatment, and now that my mum is back to her usual active self we're delighted to be able to give back and help support life-changing treatments for  other patients. On  May 11th, we'll be walking  the 15 miles between the two Marsden hospitals  as part of the annual Marsden March, and we'd be so grateful for any donations, however small.

By donating to our page, the nurses, doctors, and research teams at the Marsden can continue to provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world. Together, we can transform the lives of cancer patients.

Thank you so much in advance for your support,

The Hairy Cell Girls x
