Hi we are Deb & Ash (Dash) we are neighbours, friends and spin partners! We decided to do this walk the 15 mile Banham Marsden March together this year as we both have reasons to do the walk and wanted to support this wonderful hospital while supporting each other along the way!  

Debs story - The start of 2021 our world was turned upside down when our son Owen was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. It was a tough journey of treatment but Owen was unbelievable we are so incredibly proud of the bravery he showed every single day.  Today Owen is 4 years in remission.  We are so grateful to be at this milestone and we  owe so much of it to the exceptional care Owen received from RMH and supporting charities.  I am doing this to show Owen how proud we are of him and to say thank you! I'm walking for Owen and all the brave children, teenage and young adults who are or have been receiving treatment. They deserve the best chance and future by raising funds to continue to find successful treatments and a cure!  

Ash's story -   In July last year, I heard those words no one wants to hear 'You have cancer'.

I was diagnosed with Stage 2B melanoma (skin cancer). I had surgery to remove the melanoma and started a year of immunotherapy treatment in November.  The care and support I am receiving from the Royal Marsden is indescribable - they give you hope when you feel your world and future have been turned upside down.

The Marsden also supported my Mum and close friends through their cancer journeys so I will walk to support this great charity and for all those who have had to hear those 3 words no one should have to hear.
