A bigger Wandle Wander

Tuesday 28th Apr
Inspired by the short trip last weekend, I decided to take my fellow MMer down the complete Wandle Trail from Wandsworth to Waddon on Saturday.  12 miles of beautiful contrasts- green peace and burble-y river with ducks (no babies yet, and no flash of blue either) to urban high streets via parks full of picnics and ball games. Didn’t feel like 12 miles at all.
Then another 13miles on Sunday following Matt at the London marathon. So proud and now do ready for my challenge.

A Wandle Wander

Saturday 18th Apr
Blessed with blue skies and puffy white clouds, I thought I’d go for a bit of a wander. Beddington Park was my first look at the river, then I followed it past the reservoirs ( misplaced hope of seeing something blue flash past) but saw plenty of moorhens/coots/egret and grebes( not sure which type though). Headed to Mitcham Junction, still off-road, then turned south to follow the Wandle back to Carshalton and home. 11.99k ( SO annoying!) in two hours, a nice stretch of the legs!

Cooking on gas

Sunday 12th Apr
Cracked a lovely 10 miler in the Gloucestershire countryside- one tiny shower of hail, blowing a hooley which was never on our backs but the beautiful views kept us going! Feels good to be getting the distances done. Thank you for all your support- so grateful.

Here I go again

Thursday 5th Feb
In need of a challenge, I’m attempting the 15 mile Marsden March this year! Apart from beginning the training wearing flippers and a snorkel ( when will it stop?), I’m looking forward to getting the miles under my feet! You all know why! It will be my 15th cancerversary this year and I remain forever grateful to the team at RMH for those 15 years… and I hope to raise funds for the charity to continue to support their patients and research.
