Together we walk!
This is the first time I’ve entered the official Royal Marsden Cancer Charity walk - the Marsden’s flagship fundraising event held annually in May. Last year some 7,500 patients, staff and general public took part and raised a record 2.3 million pounds. With thousands of others I shall start the walk at Morden and join those walkers who will be starting at the Marsden Chelsea before we all cross the finishing line at the Marsden Sutton.
I’m doing this to help raise funds for the future and to say thank you to all the amazing staff who have treated and supported family and friends who have had cancer, and especially for the Marsden’s ongoing support for Greg Sticka. Greg got bowel cancer 8 years ago and this went on to attack his liver and then his lungs After many years of scans, operations, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and ablations, Greg continues to go in for chemotherapy every few weeks. Well done Greg – a truly amazing guy and a huge inspiration to us all.
