I’m walking to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. By donating to my page, their nurses, doctors, and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world.
I’m one of the lucky ones - my prostate cancer has been diagnosed early and has not spread. I have a great team of doctors and nurses working on my behalf to keep it under control, and if I’m really fortunate I won’t need treatment. Others are not so lucky and have to rely on the research and treatments provided by hospitals such as the Royal Marsden.
Fifty years ago, my grandmother died of cancer in the Royal Marsden. Ongoing research since then means many more people today survive this condition.
