Making Strides Against Cancer: Why I’m Walking for the Royal Marsden Again

I received my breast cancer diagnosis on 10 May 2024, and I remember the consultant asking me to focus on one word: “early.” Hannah, one of the wonderful nurse specialists at St Barts, told me to put on my “big girl pants” for the year ahead, and she was right.
After my surgery in June 2024, I became a patient at the Royal Marsden and completed the rest of my treatment there. The care I’ve received, and continue to receive, has been exceptional and has given me real comfort along the way.
Last year, I joined my friends in the 15-mile Banham Marsden March to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for me and to help raise vital funds. It was a very emotional day, walking alongside other cancer survivors, thrivers, and those taking part in memory of loved ones.
I’m walking again this year because I want to give something back to the Royal Marsden and support the incredible work of its nurses, doctors, and research teams. The Royal Marsden is a world-leading cancer centre, and by donating to my page, you’ll be helping them provide outstanding care and develop life-saving treatments.
Thank you so much for your support.
