Walking for Cancer

Recently my close friend was diagnosed with Sarcoma, which is a rare form of cancer that can affect the soft tissue and also the bone. The diagnosis came after months of her symptoms not being fully recognised. I want to raise awareness of this particular form of cancer, which is all too often dismissed and because of its rarity, is not widely understood. I am walking for her, and for everyone else going through something similar. By walking and raising money for The Royal Marsden, we are supporting the Doctors and Nurses in providing the best care to people going through a cancer diagnosis, and supporting their ongoing treatment. Please donate whatever you can to such a worthy cause. Thank you ❤️

And I would Walk 500 Miles…

Friday 4th Apr
Deciding to walk the Marsden March and setting up this page has allowed me to create something positive, in a time where everything feels quite negative. It has allowed me to keep my mind focussed on a specific goal, in order to achieve a specific target. But most of all it has allowed me to outwardly show my friend just how much she means. When someone close to you is going through a cancer diagnosis,  I have found it can be really difficult to know what to say. It can completely change your interactions with that person, and you find yourself constantly worrying whether you are saying the wrong thing. You want to ask if they are okay, but they have probably been asked that about 100 times that day. I wanted to show my friend that I am with her, and supporting her, and will be throughout, and when I saw the Marsden March pop up on an advert on my phone, I knew this was the perfect way to do it. What better way to support someone than to put yourself out, and do something that you wouldn’t normally do, whilst at the same time raising funds for such a great cause. I may not physically be walking 500 miles, but for me at this time, it symbolises the whole journey, and I want to be with my friend every step of the way. Every donation is greatly appreciated! Thank you ❤️
