Together we walk! Wagalan - 'Enjoy Life'

I’m walking to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. By donating to my page, their nurses, doctors, and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world. Together, we can transform the lives of cancer patients. Please support me today.

I have had awesome support from The Royal Marsden over the past 5 years and still have quarterly CT scans - waiting for that bell!!  This time last year a very dear friend passed on the day of the March. She remains a  symbol of courage and "Life". 15 miles is tough - but so is cancer.. Also remembering Harvey - you were taken last year at 29  - so I say "Wagalan " - "Enjoy Life"

Bernice and Harvey - lost in the last year - Here's a poem

Thursday 17th Apr
It's difficult to add original thoughts sometimes as we all have our special memories of people we "knew" - SO to add a bit of spice to my page I asked Gemini to help... I Like! Besides - I don't think anyone is reading my blogs -- too much going on.

For Bernice, a light extinguished too soon,

And Harvey, whose laughter now echoes the moon,

Though shadows of cancer did darken their days,

Their spirits still shine in a myriad of ways.

Bernice, with a kindness that warmed like the sun,

Each moment she cherished, till her race was run.

Her gentle compassion, a comforting hand,

Left prints on our hearts, across this fair land.

And Harvey, with stories that danced in his eyes,

Embraced every sunrise, beneath endless skies.

His vibrant enthusiasm, a contagious delight,

He squeezed every drop from the day and the night.

Though pain may have lingered, and battles were fought,

Their zest for existence can never be naught.

They showed us the beauty in simple things found,

The joy in a melody, the earth underfoot, the sweet sound.

They lived with a passion, a courage so bold,

Their stories a treasure, more precious than gold.

They taught us that life, though fragile and brief,

Is a gift to be savoured, beyond all belief.

So let their bright memories ignite in our soul,

A fire to live with unwavering control.

To laugh with abandon, to love without fear,

To hold every moment that life holds so dear.

Let sorrow give way to a purpose anew,

To honour their spirit in all that we do.

To chase our own dreams with unwavering might,

And fill every second with brilliance and light.

For Bernice and Harvey, though parted from sight,

Their legacy calls us to live with all our might.

To embrace every sunrise, each breath that we take,

And live life to the fullest, for goodness sake.

Wagalan - Enjoy life!
