Giving Thanks and Marching for a Cause

This May, I’ll be taking part in the Marsden March, a 15-mile journey between the Royal Marsden Hospital in London and its Sutton counterpart. It’s a walk with purpose, and this year, it feels more personal than ever.

My dear Friends Elaine, Eric, John, and now, most recently, Jill Heaney —these incredible individuals have all faced cancer in one form or another. Their strength, resilience, and the battles they’ve endured inspire me every step of the way.

The Royal Marsden is not just a hospital; it’s a beacon of hope for so many. Their work in cancer care and research is nothing short of extraordinary, and it’s this work that I hope to support through fundraising during the march.

This year, I’ve set myself an extra challenge: before I even begin the 15-mile walk, I’ll be running to the start line in London from Sutton. It’s a way to push myself physically and honor the courage of those I’m marching for. After the run, I’ll join friends and family to walk back to Sutton, reflecting on the journey and the cause we’re united for.

As I train and prepare, I’m reminded of how fortunate I am to have my health and the ability to take on this challenge. It’s a privilege to give back to an institution that gives so much to those in need.
