Together we walk!

I’m walking to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. By donating to my page, their nurses, doctors, and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world. Together, we can transform the lives of cancer patients. Please support me today.

Dad

Saturday 30th Nov
For the 2nd time I will be taking part in the Banham Marsden March in May 2025 in memory of my Dad.

My Dad Robert John Shanley was born 9th June 1953 to Alexander and Beryl Shanley my grandparents in Bournemouth. He had a younger brother named Dennis who at the age of 36 passed away from cancer 22nd December 1992.

Dad studied at the Imperial College in London and had various jobs before working as a computer consultant for Magic and Menzies.

Dad loved knowledge and was without a doubt the smartest person I have ever known. He loved he’s sports and particularly F1 which is where I got my love for the sport when Lewis Hamilton started in 2007. Along with that he loved photography, steam trains, crossword puzzles, Top Gear, music and much more.

In July 2015 Dad was diagnosed with cancer of the liver and pancreas having not been well for the past 2 months before the diagnosis.
