Walking the Marsden March for Our Amazing Dad/Uncle, Glenn 🪽🤍
We are walking the Marsden March for The Royal Marsden, a place that now holds a piece of our hearts forever.
As many of you know, our Dad/Uncle, Glenn (Kira and Grace’s dad and Amy’s uncle), was diagnosed with a brain tumour in August 2025. He had glioblastoma, the most common yet most aggressive form of brain cancer. After six months of fighting as hard as he possibly could, we lost him on Wednesday 4th February 2026.
He meant so much to all of us. To Kira and Grace he was our dad, our rock, our safe place and the person we went to for absolutely everything. To Amy he was a loving and supportive uncle. He was such a special man and the impact he had on all of our lives will stay with us forever.
He was a fighter right until the very end. He never stopped fighting, never gave up, not for a single minute. Our Dad/Uncle always taught us to never give up, no matter how hard life gets, and he truly proved that this was something he would never do himself. Even when his body was tired, his spirit was not. The strength he showed throughout his illness was nothing short of extraordinary. We are so unbelievably proud of him, and we will carry that pride with us for the rest of our lives.
We had to face the heartbreaking reality that this disease would take him from us, but The Royal Marsden gave him the very best chance, the very best care, and the most dignity and hope anyone could ask for. They tried everything. They supported him. They supported all of us. For that, we will be forever grateful.
We are taking on this walk for him and for every family who finds themselves in this same fight. The Royal Marsden’s nurses, doctors and researchers are extraordinary. They give hope where there shouldn’t be any, strength when you feel empty, and moments of time that become memories you hold onto forever.
This walk will be a challenge for us, but it is nothing compared to what our Dad/Uncle faced with such courage and determination. We will make the walk a fun and meaningful day in memory of him. We know he will be watching down on us, pushing us forward and keeping us going every step of the way.
We are walking for him.
We are walking for the love we share.
We are walking to make him proud, now and always.
