Thank you so so much for all your kind, generous donations. We have raised nearly £3000 between us for an amazing charity close to my heart. Marsden March completed in 5 hours 33 mins. It was a hot one but so pleased we did it xx

My cancer story

Sunday 4th Feb

In July of last year, when my little girl was 6 months old I found a lump in my left breast and was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then my life has literally been turned upside down with numerous trips to hospital, scans, blood tests, a mastectomy and chemo whilst all trying to navigate motherhood. Having to face your own mortality when you have a 6 month old and wondering whether you will see her grow up is something I would never wish on anyone. 


Despite the darkness I’ve learn’t who my true friends and family are (you know you are…thank you 😊) and the care and compassion I have received from the Royal Marsden has made those dark days a little bit brighter. The oncology nurses are literal angels. 


So, me and my bestie Theresa Scutchings have decided that we are doing the Marsden March on the 12th May 2024. It’s 15 miles from the Royal Marsden, Chelsea (where I had my mastectomy) to the Royal Marsden, Sutton (where I am receiving my treatment). My body has taken quite a battering from the treatment. I’ve lost my hair, ache like an 80 year old and there have been days where I can barely get out of bed and walk up the stairs. So this won’t be easy for me. With 1 in 2 people getting cancer in their lifetime there is a likelihood that you will either be directly affected or one of your loved ones will be. So if you are able to donate even a small amount we’d been incredibly grateful.
