Meet the marchers
“I want to help raise vital funds and give back to the hospital that has become my second home...The Banham Marsden March is a target for me, it gives me a sense of purpose and something to aim for.”
“I did the 15 mile route of The Banham Marsden March and it was absolutely brilliant. The atmosphere was great, not just with people taking part in the event - people along the way were cheering for us.”
“When I crossed the finish line the feeling of elation was massive, and the crowd and staff from The Royal Marsden were cheering us on. The fact that many friends and colleagues had sponsored me and this went to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity to help people like me and future patients made it all worthwhile.”
“There is something about being together with all those former patients and current patients and their families in a way to say thank you to the hospital. There are also people walking in memory of friends and family. You walk along with people and see the signs pinned to the back of people’s t-shirts; it is a really moving event.”
Team Banham has walked with us every year since 2015.
‘The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity is a cause that is close to all our hearts at Banham as so many of us have sadly been touched by cancer either directly, through our loved ones or amongst our colleagues. We are so proud to be supporting the Charity through to 2025 and to help continue to make a difference for cancer patients at The Royal Marsden and throughout the UK. We cannot wait to be at the start line for 2024 for our ninth event together!'.
Charles Hallatt, Executive Chairman at Banham.

“I think the March is a way we can all give back to The Royal Marsden – not just for the work they do every day, but also to help fund research and new treatments. I want to make sure other patients can benefit from The Marsden the way I have.”
“We took part from our new home in Northern Italy. It was great to be able to do the walk - despite the added hills - and know that others were doing it back home.”

Since 2021 The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity have offered our supporters the option to get involved with The Banham Marsden March wherever they are, by organising their very own ‘Banham Marsden March at Home’.
The 'at Home' was first launched due to COVID restrictions; we asked people to walk in their local area instead of the traditional route and were blown away with the support this event received! Now each year we are pleased to include The Banham Marsden March at Home option for all our supporters who are unable to attend the event in London. Hundreds of our supporters have since organised their own Banham Marsden Marches across the UK and abroad to support The Royal Marsden through this special event.
